Qualifications and Experience

For appointment to this position, the ideal candidate must:

Have the following qualifications from the Kenya National Examinations Council-

Single and Group Certificates;
Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.)/Computerized Document Processing III
Shorthand II (80 w.p.m.
Business English III/Communications II
Office Practice II
Secretarial Duties II
Commerce II
Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III


Diploma/Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
Have a certificate in Computer Applications (Windows, MS-Word, MS Power Point MS Excel, MS Access and Internet) from a recognized institution.
Be a registered member in good standing with Kenya National Secretaries Association (KENASA)
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
Minimal experience in work of similar nature in the public service or private sector will be an added advantage.


Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to Authority’s policies;
Supervise other junior staff and assign responsibilities to ensure performance;
Manage agendas, travel arrangements and appointment for the Deputy/ Asst. Director;
Track and manage stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary from the System;
Manage calls and correspondence (e-mails and letters.);
Handle internal and external customers;
Manage agendas, travel arrangements and appointments for office;
Schedule and facilitate meetings;
Serve as the liaison person for the Department with other departments and external stakeholders;
Manage and maintain Office Petty Cash;
Typing correspondences;
Dispatching internal mails; and
Perform any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time,
